1st National Finswimming Championship 2025 – Caracas, Venezuela
The Venezuelan Federation of Underwater Activities (FVAS) has officially announced the 1st National Adult and Category Finswimming Championship for 2025. The event will take place from March 21 to 23, 2025 at the “Rafael Vidal” pool in Caracas, Venezuela. This championship will serve as a national championship, a national junior qualifier for the 19th CMAS Junior World Championship in Chios, Greece, and a pre-selection event for the CMAS Pan-American Championship in Ibagué, Colombia.
Participation and Categories
The competition is open to both male and female athletes registered with the National Sports Registry (IND) in the following categories:
- Junior C (14–15 years)
- Junior B (16–17 years)
- Senior (18+)
- Master M30+ (30–39 years)
- Master M40+ (40–49 years)
- Master M50+ (50+ years)
Registration Details
- Deadline: March 16, 2025 (10:00 PM)
- Fee: $30 per athlete (to be paid in cash at the technical meeting)
- Clubs must be up to date with previous payments to participate.
- Withdrawals are allowed until March 18, 2025 without penalty; otherwise, the full fee will be charged.
Event Schedule
The championship will feature both individual and relay events:
- Friday Afternoon: 50 AP, 1500 SF, 400 BI, 4×50 Apnea
- Saturday Morning: 100 SF, 100 BI, 800 SF, 4×200 SF
- Saturday Afternoon: 200 BI, 400 SF, 4×100 SF
- Sunday Morning: 50 SF, 50 BI, 200 SF, 4×100 BF Mixed
Qualification Standards
To qualify for the Junior World Championship or the Pan-American Championship, athletes must meet the required time standards:
- Top 10 times from the 2023 Junior World Championship in Cairo for world qualification.
- Top 3 times from the 2023 Pan-American Championship in Barranquilla for sprint events and top 2 for distance events.
Awards and Recognition
- Medals will be awarded to the top three athletes in each event, category, and gender.
- A team trophy will be awarded based on the CMAS points system for the top three clubs.
Technical and Organizational Information
- The event will follow CMAS international rules.
- All decisions by the referee panel are final.
- A technical meeting will be held on March 21 at 1:00 PM.
