The 2024 Cápa, Serdülő, and Junior Finswimming and Diving National Championships, which marks its 22nd edition for the Cápa age group, 54th for the Serdülő, and 34th for Juniors, will take place on November 16-17, 2024, in Eger, Hungary, at the Bitskey Aladár Swimming Pool. This prestigious event, organized by the Hungarian Diving Federation and the Eger Diving and Water Sports Club, is set to bring together top young athletes from across Hungary.
Purpose of the Competition
The primary goal of the championship is to determine the national champions for the year 2024 in finswimming and diving across three age categories: Cápa (youngest), Serdülő (middle age group), and Junior (oldest). Besides determining the winners, the competition also aims to promote the sport and provide opportunities for young athletes to compete at a high level.
Venue and Facilities
The championship will take place at the Bitskey Aladár Swimming Pool in Eger, which is a 50-meter, 8-lane indoor pool equipped with electronic timing. The water temperature is maintained at a comfortable 26°C, with a tolerance of ±1°C, ensuring optimal conditions for both athletes and officials.
Competition Schedule
The event will be held over two days, with races scheduled from morning through late afternoon. The competition will feature a broad range of events, including finswimming, surface swimming, and diving, with distances varying from 50 meters to 1500 meters depending on the age group and event.
- Saturday, November 16, 2024: The day begins with warm-up sessions for both the Serdülő and Junior age groups, followed by a technical meeting for coaches and team leaders. The morning session will include events such as the 50m finswimming butterfly for Cápa, the 100m finswimming for Serdülő and Junior athletes, and the 1500m surface swimming event for both male and female competitors. The afternoon session will feature additional events such as the 50m finswimming for Cápa and the 400m surface swimming for Serdülő and Juniors.
- Sunday, November 17, 2024: The second day follows a similar structure, with warm-up sessions, technical meetings, and races. The events on this day include longer distances like the 400m and 800m finswimming races for Serdülő and Juniors, as well as the mixed 4x100m surface swimming relay.
