The 4th Sardinia Finswimming Competition, set to take place on the 23rd and 24th of November 2024 in Cagliari, promises to be an exciting event for the finswimming community. Hosted at the G. Sicbaldi Olympic swimming pool, a 50-meter, 8-lane facility located on Via Roberto Pisano, this competition brings together athletes from various categories, including juniors, seniors, and even paralympic participants. Organized by A.S.D. Water Life S.C. under the approval of the Federazione Italiana Pesca Sportiva e Attività Subacquee (FIPSAS) for the Sardinian region, the event offers an impressive program of races and distances, making it a key date in the Italian finswimming calendar.
Registration Process
To participate in the 4th Sardinia Finswimming, clubs must ensure they are properly affiliated with FIPSAS/CMAS and that their athletes hold valid licenses and medical clearances for competitive sports. All registrations must be submitted through the “Gestionale trofei di nuoto e gare sociali” platform, available at nuotosprint.it, by Sunday, November 17, 2024. A critical aspect of the registration process is the simultaneous submission of the participation fee, which must be transferred to the A.S.D. Water Life S.C. bank account as specified in the official announcement. The participation fees are as follows: €16.00 per club and €8.00 per athlete, per race or time trial attempt.
Competition Categories and Regulations
The competition is open to all athletes from clubs affiliated with FIPSAS or CMAS for the current year. A wide range of categories will be competing, from young beginners (Esordienti A1, A2, B1, B2) to seasoned athletes in the absolute, master, and paralympic classes. Each athlete can compete in up to four races, with the restriction of participating in only one race per distance.
FIPSAS rules will apply to the Esordienti A and B categories, while CMAS regulations will govern the races for the absolute, master, and paralympic athletes. In a unique aspect of the event, the paralympic categories will feature unified classes (A, B, and C), allowing for inclusive competition across various ability levels.
