Finswimming is one of the most exciting water sport ever. Finswimming is a sport belonging to the aquatic specialties which, using specific equipment (monofin, fins, snorkel or cylinders) allows the athlete to reach much higher speeds than swimming. There are indoor (swimming pools) and open water (sea, lake, rivers) championships.

2 New World Records on 200 immersion female by Huali Yao and Ekaterina Timchenko - Finswimmer Magazine

Today July 14th 2024, during the qualification heats in the morning of the 3rd day at the CMAS World Finswimming Championships 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia, 2 New World Records on 200 immersion female have been set by the Chinese Huali Yao and the Russian Ekaterina Timchenko, but under the CMAS flag for the obvious Russia-Ukraine war matter.

Huali Yao set the new Senior World Record, whilst Ekaterina Timchenko set the new Junior World Record.

200 immersion is a brand new race, introduced this year, we’ve seen the first time during the CMAS Finswimming World Cup series 2024 Round 1.

Congratulations to these 2 wonderful finswimmers!

We’ll wait for the afternoon finals, where there would be another chance to do it again.
