As 2024 nears its conclusion, finswimming athletes in Russia have several major competitions to look forward to. These events span across various age categories, offering young talents and experienced finswimmers alike the opportunity to compete at a high level. The following are some of the key finswimming events happening in different Russian regions from October to December 2024.
23-27 October 2024 – “Dedicated to the 650th Anniversary of Kirov,” Kirov Region
In October, the Kirov region will celebrate a milestone in its history by hosting the “Dedicated to the 650th Anniversary of Kirov” finswimming competition. This event is set to take place from October 23 to 27 and will focus on younger age groups. The competition is open to boys and girls aged 12-13 years, born between 2011 and 2012, and junior/young women aged 14-17 years, born between 2007 and 2010.
This event represents a significant opportunity for young finswimmers to showcase their skills on a regional level while celebrating the rich history of Kirov. 4-8 November 2024 – All-Russian Finswimming Competition, Saratov Region

This competition will take place from November 4 to 8, featuring participants in several age groups. Competing will be men and women born in 2009 or earlier, along with boys and girls aged 12-13 years, born between 2011 and 2012.

14-18 November 2024 – “Golden Fin,” Novosibirsk Region
Just a week later, finswimming action moves to the Novosibirsk region for the “Golden Fin” event. Scheduled to take place from November 14 to 18, this competition is open to junior/young women aged 14-17 years, born between 2007 and 2010.
The “Golden Fin” competition has a reputation for attracting some of the best young talent from across Russia. With such a rich history in competitive finswimming, Novosibirsk continues to be a hub for developing athletes. 13-17 December 2024 – “Snow Fin,” Tomsk Region
As the year comes to an end, the finswimming season will conclude with the “Snow Fins” competition in Tomsk, running from December 13 to 17. This event will feature a wide range of age categories, including men and women born in 2006 or earlier, junior/young women aged 14-17 years (born between 2006 and 2010), and boys and girls aged 12-13 years, born between 2011 and 2012.
The “Snow Fins” competition offers a fitting conclusion to the 2024 finswimming season in Russia. Athletes from different regions will travel to Tomsk to participate, competing in one of the most exciting finswimming events of the year.
