The 2nd Memorial Dario D’Alessandro, a prestigious national finswimming event, is set to take place on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Palasport Camaiore in Camaiore, Italy. Organized under the auspices of FIPSAS (Italian Federation of Sport Fishing and Underwater Activities), this competition brings together finswimmers from across the country in a showcase of skill and dedication.
Event Details
The event will be held in a 25-meter pool, with electronic timing systems managed by the Lucca branch of the Italian Federation of Timekeepers to ensure accurate race results. Competitors across various categories will have the chance to participate. These categories include Esordienti, 1ª, 2ª, 3ª, Assoluti, Master, and DIFIR, all of whom must be officially registered with FIPSAS for the 2024/2025 season.
Athletes in the Absolute and Master categories, as well as others who opt in, will compete following CMAS regulations. The registration fee for individual races is set at €4 per event, payable via bank transfer to the organizing committee’s account. Registrations must be completed using the official FIPSAS form, available on nuotopinnato.it, by the deadline of January 12, 2025.
Competitive Format
The races will be organized in series based on the athletes’ submitted times, ensuring a fair and competitive environment. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each category, ranging from Esordienti B1 to Absolute, as well as Master and DIFIR. For the Absolute and Master categories, participants will follow CMAS-specific regulations, ensuring alignment with international finswimming standards.
Team Awards and Incentives
The top three clubs will be recognized with trophies. Additionally, they will receive discounts for the 2025-26 edition of the Memorial:
- 20% discount for the first-place team
- 10% discount for the second-place team
- 5% discount for the third-place team
The organizing club, however, will not be eligible for these incentives.
Facilities and Amenities
To enhance the experience, the event offers multiple dining options with special arrangements for attendees:
- Bar Lo Zodiaco (Palasport Camaiore) offers a meal for €13.
- Other dining options include Trattoria Da Marchino and Ristopasta, both conveniently located nearby.
For accommodation, participants and their families can opt for Ostello La Brilla, situated in Massarosa, providing an affordable stay with easy access to the venue.
