On December 7-8, 2024, the swimming pool “Neptun” in Zarechny, Sverdlovsk region, hosted the Junior Championship of Sverdlovsk Region in underwater sports, encompassing disciplines such as finswimming and classic finswimming. Organized by the Sverdlovsk Federation of Underwater Sports, the event brought together young athletes from across the region to compete at high standards, supported by state-of-the-art timekeeping technology.
Highlights of the Championship
200m Classic Finswimming – Junior Girls (2007–2010)
- Daria Shilina from Zarechny dominated with a remarkable 2:00.16, earning first place and setting a high standard for the competition.
- Ekaterina Miniahmetova and Daria Belikova, both from Berezovsky, followed closely with times of 2:04.73 and 2:07.05, respectively.
400m Classic Finswimming – Boys (2013 and Younger)
- In an exciting race, Andrey Akimov of Berezovsky clinched victory with a 4:46.75.
- Nikita Ogorelyshev from Zarechny finished second with 4:52.01, while Sergey Rusakov, also from Berezovsky, placed third.
1500m Finswimming – Junior Boys (2007–2010)
- The fiercely contested race saw Aynur Gilmutdinov from Berezovsky emerge victorious with 13:56.56, closely followed by Andrey Tekunov from Chelyabinsk at 13:58.37.
800m Finswimming – Girls (2011–2012)
- Daria Malikovа from Chelyabinsk secured the top position with an impressive 7:50.48.
- Anastasia Namyatova and Evgenia Molchanova, both from Berezovsky, rounded off the top three.

The competition was overseen by experienced judges, including Chief Judge Vladislav Petrov and Chief Secretary Nadezhda Mironova. Their expertise, coupled with a well-equipped venue featuring the ALTAZAR electronic timekeeping system, ensured a smooth and fair competition.
