From April 18 to 21, 2025, the city of Kazan in the Republic of Tatarstan will host the All-Russian Competition in Underwater Sports. Taking place at the “Akcharlak” swimming pool—a certified 50-meter, 10-lane facility—the event will feature multiple disciplines including finswimming, classic finswimming, diving, and distance apnea (dynamic apnea with fins).
Competition Overview
Organized by the Russian Underwater Sports Federation (FПСР) and the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation, the event is officially part of the national calendar of interregional and All-Russian physical culture and sports events. It serves several purposes:
- Identification of top athletes for national teams
- Preparation for international competitions
- Development of youth talent and sports reserves
Age Categories and Eligibility
Athletes from across Russia will compete in three age groups:
- Adults (men/women) – born in 2007 or earlier
- Juniors (14–17 years) – born between 2008 and 2011
- Younger juniors (12–13 years) – born between 2012 and 2013
All athletes must hold at least the following qualifications:
- Adults and juniors: II sports grade or higher
- Younger juniors: III sports grade or higher
Each regional team may consist of:
- Up to 8 adult men and women
- Up to 26 junior boys and girls
- Up to 26 younger junior boys and girls
- 5 coaches and 3 judges
Disciplines
The competition program includes a range of individual and paired events:
- Finswimming (monofin and bifin): 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m
- Diving events:
- Obstacle course (100m individual and mixed pairs)
- One-tank diving (50m and 100m mixed pairs)
- 50m cargo lifting
- Dynamic apnea (distance): 50m for juniors only

- April 18: Arrival, training, team briefings, judges’ seminar
- April 19-20: Competition days with heats starting at 9:00 AM
- April 21: Departure of teams
Safety and Regulations
Medical coverage, life insurance, and COVID-related precautions (including potential PCR testing and vaccination proof) are mandatory. Anti-doping protocols will be strictly enforced in accordance with Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) guidelines. Athletes aged 14 and older must also complete an online anti-doping course.
Awards and Results
Winners and medalists in each category will receive medals and diplomas. Final rankings are based on the best time per category. Protests must be submitted within 30 minutes of result announcements, with a refundable fee of 5000 RUB if upheld.
