The Croatian Diving Federation (Hrvatski Ronilački Savez), in collaboration with the Nevera Diving Club, is organizing the 32nd Croatian Finswimming and Speed Diving Championship for younger juniors, juniors, and seniors, as well as the 29th Croatian Team Championship in finswimming and speed diving. These events will take place on November 9 and 10, 2024, in Rijeka, at the Kantrida Pools. This prestigious national event brings together competitors across multiple age categories to showcase their talents in a variety of disciplines.
Venue and Competition Details
The competition will be held at the Kantrida Pools in Rijeka, a state-of-the-art facility featuring a 50 x 25 meter pool with a depth of 2.25 meters and 10 competitive lanes. The pool is equipped with electronic timing devices, ensuring accurate measurement of each competitor’s performance. The participants will be divided into male and female categories for individual and team competitions, and the events will feature younger juniors (C), juniors (B), and seniors (A).
Eligibility Criteria
Participation in this event is open to all registered members of Croatian Diving Federation clubs. Competitors must meet specific eligibility requirements, including:
- Holding a valid Croatian Diving Federation membership card for 2024.
- Providing a certified medical check-up no older than six months.
- Signing a responsibility waiver.
- Possessing a minimum diving certification (CMAS R1) for speed diving (BR) disciplines.
- Providing proof of tank testing (for the BR disciplines) and a receipt of the paid entry fee. This ensures that all participants are well-prepared, qualified, and physically capable of competing at a high level.
Registration Process and Entry Fee
Competitors must submit their registration forms, including their times for each discipline, to the Nevera Diving Club via email (rknevera@gmail.com). The deadline for registration is November 3, 2024, with start lists being published on the official website, www.finswimmingnevera.com, by November 7, 2024. The entry fee for the competition is set at €30 per competitor.
Categories and Scoring
The competition will be conducted in both individual and team formats. Each participant may compete in up to six individual disciplines. For team events, there is no restriction on the number of competitors from each team per discipline, but only the top two performers from each team in every event will contribute points to the team’s overall score. Scoring will follow the Croatian Diving Federation’s official guidelines: 25 points for 1st place, 22 for 2nd, and descending to 1 point for 20th place. In cases of a tie, competitors with the same result will receive identical points.
The points accumulated by juniors (B), younger juniors (C), cadets (D), younger cadets (E), and beginners (F) will count towards the team score in the junior category, while senior category points will be tallied separately. This ensures a broad range of competitors across all levels of experience and skill.
Awards and Recognition
The top three male and female competitors in each discipline for the younger junior, junior, and senior categories will receive medals. Additionally, the most successful teams in both male and female categories, as well as overall, will be awarded trophies. These awards recognize the hard work and dedication of both individuals and teams, providing motivation for further development in finswimming and speed diving.
