Finswimming is one of the most exciting water sport ever. Finswimming is a sport belonging to the aquatic specialties which, using specific equipment (monofin, fins, snorkel or cylinders) allows the athlete to reach much higher speeds than swimming. There are indoor (swimming pools) and open water (sea, lake, rivers) championships.

To which federation belongs Finswimming?

The international federation to which fin swimming belongs is CMAS, the Confédération Mondial des Activités Subaquatiques, which is part of the ARISF, and is a discipline recognized by the IOC.

Open Dutch Finswimming Championships 2017 - Eindhoven - Finswimmer Magazine

Dear fin swimmers,

On behalf of the Dutch association for underwater sports (NOB) it is my pleasure to invite you to the Dutch Open Finswimming Championship 2017 on 03 and 04 June 2017, which will take place in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven.

This year we organize this tournament for the 41st time in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium. A tournament where all fin swimmers, including young children and veterans, can participate, not only from the Netherlands but also from other countries. Last year we received about 150 swimmers and we hope we will reach the same number this year.

Not only good performances are important. We also hope that exchanging experiences and meeting each other will play a central role.

With lots of enthusiasm, we expect to realise a big, sportive and high quality tournament.

We hope to welcome you in Eindhoven with a great many participants.
