2024 Finswimming Open in Nishihon – Event Details
Purpose:
This competition aims to develop finswimming athletes and improve their competitive abilities. The results will also be considered for the selection of participants for international competitions in 2025.

Event Categories
Events are divided into individual and relay categories for both men and women, with finals based on time.
Individual Events (Men and Women):
- Apnea (AP): 50m
- Surface (SF): 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m
- CMAS Bi-Fin (BF): 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m
- J Bi-Fin: 50m, 100m, 200m, 1500m
Relay Events:
- 4×50m Surface Relay (Men/Women)
- 4×100m CMAS Bi-Fin Relay (Mixed Gender)
- 4×50m J Bi-Fin Relay (Men/Women)
- 4×50m Kyushu Relay (Men/Women)
Competition Rules
- The event will be conducted under CMAS international rules and additional rules specific to this competition.
- Separate races will be held for men and women, but mixed-gender races may occur depending on participant numbers.
- All races will be time-based finals. No age divisions will be applied to race groupings.
- There will be time limits for the 800m and 1500m events (13 minutes for 800m and 25 minutes for 1500m). Swimmers exceeding the time limit may be stopped during the race.
- Participants with prior approval can start from locations other than the starting platform.
- Only participants registered in individual events can compete in relays.
- Relays with fewer than four teams will not be held, and entry fees for canceled relays will be refunded.
Participation Eligibility
- This is an open competition, welcoming individuals and groups interested in finswimming, regardless of registration with JUSF.
- Non-registered participants’ times will be recognized but not officially recorded unless registered before entry.
- Participants must be in good health and have sufficient swimming ability.
- By participating, athletes agree to transfer image rights to the Fukuoka Underwater Sports Federation for media use.
Age Divisions
- Junior (J): 13 years and younger
- Youth (Y): 14-17 years
- Senior (S): 18-49 years
- Silver (V): 50 years and older
Awards
- Awards will be given to the top 3 in each age division and category.
- Special prizes will be awarded to individuals or teams who make significant contributions to the competition.
Selection for International Competitions
The results of this competition may be used to select athletes for international events in 2025, but only registered members of JUSF will be eligible for selection.
Entry Fees
For Registered Competitors:
- First event: 3,000 yen
- Additional events: 2,000 yen each
- Relays: 3,000 yen per team
- Kyushu Relay: 2,000 yen per team
For Non-Registered Competitors:
- First event: 4,000 yen
- Additional events: 3,000 yen each
- Relays: 3,000 yen per team
- Kyushu Relay: 2,000 yen per team
