As you probably already noticed in the CMAS Finswimming World Cup Round 3 in Italy [START LIST] appeared this morning, there will be an important different way how the competitions will be held.
If you take a look to any of the races listed in the Start List, you will see that every 8-swimmers group has a different warm up time. It means that only those who has the race at, for example, 12.10 can use the short course swimming pool aside the long course one to enjoy the warm up only 25 minutes before, so at 11.45.
What does it mean? That there are 2 options for the competitors:
- Wearing the swimsuit for competitions before the warm up, leaving the short course swimming pool just before the race (how much before?), and go to the calling room with the wet swimsuit. Very unconfortable, and there is the risk that a competitors could get cold meanwhile.
- Wearing the swimsuit for competitions after the warm up, leaving the short course swimming pool enough time before the race to be able to dry himself and wear the swimsuit. Everybody knows how is difficult to wear the race swimsuit, and how long it takes. So maybe if he is fast to do it, the warm up would be maximum 5-10 minutes?
The problem is, which option is the best one?
What do you think about?
