“New Year’s Starts” Finswimming Competition in Krasnoyarsk – A Celebration of Speed and Skill
On December 22, 2024, the city of Krasnoyarsk hosted the annual “New Year’s Starts” finswimming competition, organized by MAUDO SSOR “Sputnik.” Held in the 25-meter pool of Siberian Federal University (SFU), the event brought together promising young athletes to showcase their talent and compete for top honors.

- Varvara Kovalevich (2012), representing “Sputnik-Avangard,” dominated the 100m finswimming for girls aged 2011-2012, clocking an impressive 47.81 seconds.
- In the 50m finswimming for boys aged 2011-2012, Mikhail Malkov (2012, DVS) took the lead with a remarkable time of 21.02 seconds.
- Gorokhova Maria (2011, “Sputnik-Avangard”) showcased her exceptional endurance, winning the 200m classic fins event in 2:01.71.
Rising Stars:
- Sofiya Stupneva (2013, “Sputnik-Avangard”) and Denis Karl (2013, “Sputnik-Avangard”) impressed with their victories in their respective age groups in multiple events, confirming their potential as future champions.
