The Panhellenic Winter Finswimming Games will be held at the Nea Ionia Municipal Swimming Pool in Volos from tomorrow, Thursday, February 13th , until Sunday, February 16th.
486 athletes from 31 clubs from all over the country will participate in the event.
Morning sessions start at 9:15 and afternoon sessions start at 17:15 .
According to the sport’s announcement, the Panhellenic Winter Games are the first qualifying match for the National teams in view of the World Youth and Junior Championships to be held 17-24/6 in Chios, as well as the European Men’s and Women’s Championships to be held in Olsztyn, Poland 15-20/ 7 .
Especially for this year, these competitions are the only criterion for staffing the team events for the World Games taking place in Chengdu, China, 7-12/8. Three places are provided for the women’s team events – as athlete Ifigenia Teliousi has already secured her participation based on CMAS criteria – and four places for the men’s team events.
On February 15 and 16, the Veterans’ Winter Finswimming Games are also being held at the same swimming pool.
