Hello Yana, first of all many congratulations about your Junior World Record in 400 bifins girls during the last CMAS Finswimming Junior World Championships 2019 held in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) in July 2019! Being so young probably you are not very known in Finswimming World, so we would like to make some questions to you.
The first thing we want to know is where you live, what do you do in your life (a part finswimming of course) and what are your plans for the future, so something about your life.
Hello everybody! I live in Orsk, it’s a small Russian town where I had met finswimming the first time in my life in 2017. My trainer told me to buy fins and my first competition was the Russian Junior Championship and there I won a silver medal on 100 bifins and then I was selected for participating to the World Junior Championships in Tomsk. In this year I will graduate at my school and in my free time I have been preparing for it. And so I will start my university life and I would like to continue my finswimming life in other city!
Something about the Junior World Record in 400 m bifins, 3:48.37! You swam this race during the CMAS European Finswimming Championships in Greece a month ago with the time of 03:52.49, so 4 seconds better! How did you feel? Were you confident to get it or it was like a BIG surprise??
Thanks for you congrats. I was really surprised about my progresses in this race. I had to change my preparation after the European Championships in Greece. It was so hard to swim there. And yes I was really surprised, but my friends and my coach told me that I can do it, and I did it!
Do you like the World Finswimming family? Any special friendship between international finswimmers?
I love the “finswimming family” so much. It’s very kind, positive, lovely with many friendly people, who can support you. I have a friendship with Ukrainian and Hungarian finswimmers and of course from other countries too.
Have you ever been in Egypt before? What did you like most?
It was my first time in Egypt. And I think it’s a good, extremely hot country with friendly people and hot sunny. And with an amazing swimming pool. And of course I like the sea, which we visited during the last day we stayed there. I saw big beautiful fishes that it’s impossible to meet in Russia. It was a good races for me and I am happy about my results, because it was my third and last Junior Championship of my entire life, next ones will be only senior!
Tell us something! (free topic)
I am glad to take part in finswimming life and in my future I’d like to continue my sporty way.
Thanks a lot Yana for your time and your kindness! Please keep on smiling!
